Job Purpose
Responsible for the operational management of a service or group of services within a supported housing and/or retirement living setting. Effectively manage a team to provide a high-quality, customer-focused service, ensuring delivery of legislative and contractual performance requirements. Service Manager required to cover role whilst we recruit the permanent position.
Service manager accountabilities

  • Manage the services to provide a high-quality, customer-focused service.
  • Provide motivational leadership, mentoring, and coaching to the team, ensuring clarity of direction, effective communication, and development of personal potential.
  • Manage team performance to deliver outstanding service by reviewing work outputs, appraising individual performance, and setting improvement targets.
  • Ensure that the service meets its internal performance targets and any contract-specific targets.
  • Maintain appropriate recording systems to monitor and report on service performance and compliance. Provide accurate reports to line managers as required, to deadline.
  • Participate in the setting and management of service budgets.
  • Monitor spend and report budget variances to the Area Manager.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours management arrangements for the area/region.

Service manager Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Experience of working within a housing and/or support environment
  • Experience of working with vulnerable customers
  • Good communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Good understanding and experience of IT systems (Microsoft Office and databases)

Service manager Qualifications and Experience.

  • Previous experience in a Service manager role.
  • Enhanced DBS certification.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and engage in lone working situations.

The Package
This is a temporary, Service manager role,40 hours per week for an initial 3 months, covering the recruitment process for a permanent team member, meaning the role could be extended, or become permanent.
