Junior Management Consultant

Salary: £23,500 to £23,893 per annum.

Location: Your main office will be Clapham Depot, near Worthing, with a need to travel and work from other depots across West Sussex.

Contract: 18 month apprentice contract

Working pattern: Full-time, 37 hours per week. Flexible working options available, to be agreed with your manager.

Employer Pension Contribution: 19.70% this alters per annum on the 1 April each year.

Annual leave: 25 days holiday + Bank holidays = 33 days.

This exciting apprenticeship will involve working on the unique and innovative Live Labs project which aims to explore how plant material mowed from roadside verges can be used for bio fuels and road materials. This multi functional role will work across service functions to help develop a first-of-its-kind approach to creating a net carbon negative model for delivering green infrastructure, for example producing alternative fuels for highways vehicles from road verge grass cuttings and tree prunings.

As an apprentice you will experience getting involved in:

  • Collecting, analysing and interpreting data
  • Conducting research
  • Communicating with colleagues, stakeholders, supply chain partners and customers
  • Organising the logistics of projects
  • Contributing to report writing
  • Using statistical evidence to support recommendations and conclusions
  • Supporting with consultations and engagement with external and internal stakeholders.

You will undertake and complete the various elements of the Junior Management Consultant Level 4 Apprenticeship, including the Functional Skills, Knowledge and Understanding, and Behaviours required of that apprenticeship.

This will involve regular virtual learning sessions, working with an assessor to develop a work-based portfolio, undertaking work-based assessments, completing all assignments/projects relating to the Apprenticeship framework, and presenting evidence portfolios for assessment within specified timeframes.

What we need from you:

  • Ability to meet deadlines and use initiative to complete varied tasks.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to provide a co-ordinated service to others.
  • 2 A-level passes at grade C or above, or an equivalent vocational qualification, for example, NVQ Level 3.
  • 5 GCSE A-C grades (or other comparable qualifications) including Maths and English.
  • Valid and full driving licence.
