Job Title: Residential Youth Worker - Sleep-In (No Weekends or School Holidays)

Location: Great Yarmouth

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £20,000 - £25,000

Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate care and support to youth residing in a residential setting.
  • Foster a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and social well-being of the residents.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized care plans, including goal setting and skill-building activities.
  • Engage and encourage residents in educational, recreational, and life skills development programs.
  • Establish positive and supportive relationships with the youth and their families, actively involving them in the care process.
  • Administer medication, as required, and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess and address the needs of each resident.
  • Respond effectively to crisis situations and ensure the safety and security of the residents.
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor, promoting independence and empowering youth to reach their full potential.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with youth in a residential or similar setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the developmental needs and challenges faced by young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with youth.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required.
  • Flexibility to work sleep-in shifts and occasional night shifts.
  • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach in dealing with challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in youth care.
