Audio Engineer x 2 – Up to £400pd PAYE – Cambridge (Hybrid) - Tech

Overview:

I'm currently partnered with one of the world's leading tech companies who are looking for 2 x Audio Engineers to join the business on 12 month contracts. The ideal candidates will handle the collection of high-quality multimedia data, the setup and calibration of recording equipment, and data processing using scripts and command line tools. A strong interest in sound and audio, expertise in multimedia equipment setup and recording, and proficiency in data processing and management are essential. This role involves working closely with producers, musicians, and other stakeholders to ensure the highest quality of sound for various projects, including music production, live events, and multimedia content.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Record, edit, mix, and master audio for music, film, television, podcasts, and other multimedia projects.
  • Create and implement sound effects, ambient sounds, and other audio elements to enhance multimedia productions.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain audio equipment such as microphones, mixing consoles, and recording devices.
  • Troubleshoot audio-related issues during recording sessions and live events.
  • Work closely with producers, directors, musicians, and other team members to achieve the desired audio aesthetic.
  • Ensure all audio content meets technical and creative standards before final delivery.
  • Maintain detailed records of audio sessions, including equipment used, settings, and production notes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in audio engineering and suggest improvements to current processes and equipment.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in audio engineering, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in various audio projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality audio content.
  • Experience working with large spreadsheets or databases – ideally working with data in MS Excel or in a database such as MYSQL.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong understanding of acoustics, signal flow, and audio processing techniques.

Package:

  • Day rate - £330-400pd PAYE
  • Hybrid working – 3 days onsite in Cambridge
  • 12 month contract (strong chance it will be extended)
