Operations Manager

Our client is a leading logistics company, based in Woolpit who are passionate about sustainable, long-term growth and great customer service, in order to provide outstanding distribution and warehousing services. They are now looking for a like-minded individual to join their team as an Operations Manager.
The successful candidate will be an excellent people manager, ideally from a logistics, distribution background or a sector with transferable skills, looking to work in a dynamic, friendly team.
You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the business and ensure processes and resources can enable the company's objectives.
Duties (include but are not limited to)
Objectives:
- Delivery of operations p&l budgets in accordance with company objectives.
- Develop processes and strategies to improve operations efficiency.
- Encouragement and development of a high-performance culture in operations consistent with the company's reputation for high standards and excellence.
- Delivery of the company's services to meet customer requirements.
- Implementation of all necessary policies and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
- Utilising the company's fleet assets and resources efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Leading a busy operations team including 9 staff and 40 warehouse/HGV drivers.
- Full P&L accountability for £8m turnover.
- Oversee the planning, dispatch and delivery of UK-wide transport services.
- Regularly review operations processes to improve efficiency and profits.
- Manage employees training and development.
- Ensure incidents and accidents are managed in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all required regulatory standards.
- Attend regular reviews with key customers.
- Manage individual and team performance.
- Monitor, analyse and report on operations performance to the Operations Director.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the company's growth plan as part of the management team.
Person Specification
- Previous experience in an operations management role essential.
- Working knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations desirable.
- Proven organisation and leadership abilities.
- Excellent inter-personal and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic and complex environment.
- Strong analytical skills.
Driving Licence required: Yes
