Position: Learning Mentor
Location: Truro
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Term Time Only)
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Learning Mentor to support students in a local school. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing children's learning experiences in reading, writing, and numeracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in class activities, focusing on literacy and numeracy.
- Foster an engaging and fun learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with the class teacher regarding student progress and areas of difficulty.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and parents as needed.
- Assist with outdoor learning activities to promote creativity.
- Participate in educational trips and assist with student supervision.
- Provide 1:1 support for students who need extra help on specific tasks.
- Utilize provided resources and learning aids to support student learning.
- Model positive behavior and promote the school's social policies to prevent bullying.
- Take initiative and be proactive in supporting the classroom environment.
Ideal Candidate:
- Familiar with Child Protection, Health and Safety, Behavior Management, Teaching and Learning, and Equal Opportunities policies.
- Hold a valid Child Workforce DBS (can be obtained during the recruitment process).
- Possess strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
