Long-Term Teachers support an incredible school who are looking for a specialist teacher to support a small group of students with hearing impairments and learning difficulties. The ideal candidate will have relevant teaching experience and knowledge of sign language. This is a part-time role, starting immediately.

About the role:

You will be responsible for overseeing the learning and development of a small group of learners. The curriculum is developed to help prepare students for adulthood and life beyond education. Therefore, you will be delivering a blend of academic and vocational studies. You will be supported by a team of fantastic TA's so you must be an excellent team player. Together, you will play a vital role in allowing all students to thrive.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification
  • Experience teaching post-16
  • Previously worked closely with students with additional needs
  • BSL qualification (level 1, 2 or 3)
  • Must be confident in leading and managing a small team of support staff
  • Great interpersonal skills and excellent at making decisions
  • Proactive, resilient and a real passion for making a difference
  • A willingness to learn and develop
  • Have a enhanced DBS on the update service

This role is ongoing and you must be available to start immediately. You will be working Monday - Wednesday, 9am - 3:30pm, term time only.
