Howard Finley Care are recruiting for a new Senior Care Assistant to work within our client's nursing home in Dronfield.
Senior Care Assistant vacancy details:

Unit manager main duties:
Leadership & Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the dementia care unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care that meets the individual needs of residents.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of care staff, providing guidance, support, and ongoing training to ensure high standards of care.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and handovers to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
- Ensure that staffing levels are appropriate and meet regulatory requirements, adjusting rotas as needed.
Resident Care:
- Ensure that all residents receive person-centered care that is tailored to their individual needs, preferences, and abilities.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Monitor residents' health and well-being, responding promptly to any changes in condition and arranging for additional support or medical intervention as needed.
- Promote a positive, supportive environment that enhances residents' quality of life and well-being.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all care delivered within the unit complies with CQC regulations, best practices, and the care home's policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits of care practices, documentation, and medication administration to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage and respond to any complaints or concerns raised by residents, families, or staff, ensuring that they are addressed promptly and effectively.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Act as the main point of contact for residents and their families, providing regular updates on care and addressing any concerns.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including GPs, nurses, and therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Foster a culture of open communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the unit.
Training & Development:
- Identify training needs within the unit and ensure that all staff receive the necessary training to provide high-quality dementia care.
- Support the professional development of care staff through regular appraisals, supervision, and mentorship.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure that the unit operates in accordance with health and safety regulations, including infection control, fire safety, and safeguarding procedures.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement measures to minimize risks to residents and staff.
Financial Management:
- Assist in managing the unit's budget, ensuring that resources are used effectively and efficiently.
- Monitor spending on care supplies and equipment, ensuring that they are within budget and meet residents' needs
- NVQ level 3 in needed for senior carer role
