About the Role

As a tutor working across two sites - HMP Feltham and HMP High Down, you will play a crucial role in helping our learners develop essential vocaional skills that will serve them throughout their lives. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons, tailoring your teaching to meet the needs of each individual learner. Your passion for education and dedication to our learners' success will make you a valuable asset to our team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality lessons across various subjects.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess learner needs and develop individualised learning plans.
  • Monitor learner progress and provide feedback.
  • Support learners in achieving their qualifications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum changes and best practices.

Person Specification:

  • Teaching qualification (Level 4 or 5) or relevant subject expertise.
  • Experience in delivering effective training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to track learner progress and assess against criteria.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • A clean DBS check is mandatory.

This is a full-time permanent role, 37 hours per week over 4.5 days. Monday - Thursday 8:00 to 5:00 with a 13:00 finish on a Friday. You will be working with approximately 12 to 14 learners at any time. All planning and marking are done on site within the working hours and there is not a requirement to complete any additional extra-curricular activities apart from within your working day.
