Operational Planning Manager

The Cake Crew are seeking an Operational Planning Manger to join our exiting and expanding team, we need an individual who will be responsible for creating the planning foundations for the business, reviewing demand and capacity for both seasonal and all year round for ambient cake, whilst ensuring the highest customer service levels are met. This is an on-site role at our factory in Bala, North Wales.

Main duties include:

  • Create daily and weekly production plans based on customers demand, whilst holding optimum levels of stock. Working closely with multiple departments to ensure customer demands are met in full and on time.
  • Be a key member in the growth and implementation of the companies ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics Nav) with view to integrate an MPR system.
  • Support the Head of Operational Planning with upcoming customer launches by reviewing and managing internal trackers/ forecast, factory capacity, critical paths and key planning elements to meet deadlines.
  • Liaise with customers both face to face and via other means on their demands and working in collaboration with them agree split profiles with support from commercial department.
  • To manage and control implementation of freeze plans, ensure product quantity and split profiles are met in line with the agreement with the customer.
  • Set up new lines with our distributor for new products.
  • Creating relevant reports for the business needs.

Key skills and experiences:

  • Operational planning/ supply chain experience- with good understanding of demand, capacity planning with experience of working in FMCG manufacturing ideally in food/ bakery environment.
  • Knowledge of the full NPD concept to launch process in line with retailers' codes of practice.
  • Experience working within MSP systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills and be able to demonstrate experience of this.
  • Exceptional planning and organisation skills.
  • Logical thinking is a must with meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving, Experience of this in a comparative role would be ideal.
  • Computer literate with ability to operate Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working with Major retailers would be advantageous.
