We are recruiting for a firm of accountants based in Bedfordshire, who are seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their growing firm and team. The salary is negotiable and will of course depend on experience and qualification level, so is open within reason.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of VAT Returns
- Bookkeeping and assistance with Accounts Preparation
- Assisting with audits on occasion both in and out of the office
- Continuing to develop and nurture strong working relationships with colleagues and clients alike
- Answering calls and dealing with basic client queries about personal and business accounting and routine tax matters and escalating where appropriate
- Keeping clients aware of services we can provide
- Administration and other ad hoc tasks as required
- Being able to work to reasonable budgets, and maintaining good communication with all team members
Requirements:
- Previous exposure to all or some of the following accounting packages SAGE, QuickBooks and Xero
- Good basic Microsoft Office skills in particular word and excel.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Full driving licence and car
- Ability to work on your own initiative
