Job Title: Sales Ledger Assistant (Temp to Perm)

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire

Job Type: Temp to Perm, Part-Time (25 hours per week)

Salary: £12.50 per hour

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

About the Role: Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Sales Ledger Assistant to join their finance team on a temp-to-perm basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in sales ledger management to make a significant impact within the organisation, with the potential to transition to a permanent position after 3 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for raising sales invoices.
  • Communicate with customers to request payments for outstanding sales invoices.
  • Address and resolve queries from customers and staff regarding sales invoices or credit control.
  • Follow documented processes diligently to ensure the smooth running of the finance team.
  • Scan and file delivery notes.
  • Handle cashing up, card payments, and maintaining petty cash.
  • Perform any other duties as required to support the office.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' in a sales ledger role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial issues clearly to non-finance colleagues and external suppliers.
  • Professional telephone manner for engaging with customers and staff.
  • Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with accounting software (Sage) and associated reporting tools.
  • Excellent self-management skills, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and supportive approach to team working.
  • Proactive with a willingness to develop and document financial systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage routine tasks with minimal supervision and effectively communicate any arising issues.
  • Experience in prioritising tasks and managing workload to meet deadlines calmly and professionally.

Qualifications:
