Senior Recruitment Manager, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

The Senior Recruitment Manager will manage one direct report and work closely with the global recruitment and HR team in APAC, EMEA, LATAM and the US. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the firm's growth.

The role will be located in London, Chelmsford or Manchester with a global remit, and reports into the Head of Recruitment.

Team

Kennedys HR team support the firm around the world with all people related matters.

The HR team is based in Chelmsford, London and Manchester for the UK, Belfast and Dublin for EMEA, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia for APAC, Basking Ridge for US and London/LATAM for LATAM. The areas of HR that we have responsibility for are Business Partnering, Learning and Development, Policies and Operations, Recruitment, Responsible Business (Social Impact and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion), Reward and HR Systems. The HR function is also responsible for the Secretarial function in the UK.

You will be working in a fast-paced, demanding, and global environment as we strive to make a difference for our people, clients and communities where we work.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the end to end recruitment process for UK and EMEA Partners and UK Legal Directors, with oversight of Partner and Legal Director recruitment globally (there will be occasional requirement to work outside of the normal working day to accommodate time zones)
  • Collaborate with the relevant internal teams in order to prepare candidate business plans, obtain the necessary approvals and documentation for Partner votes
  • Manage the Partner Recruitment Team and deliver a high quality professional recruitment service in accordance with the overall strategy of the Firm and recruitment budget
  • Motivate, mentor, coach and provide leadership to direct reports, setting and reviewing performance objectives on a regular basis
  • Deliver an excellent standard of recruitment customer service to the Firm and demonstrate in-depth understanding of the Firm's practice areas and business
  • In conjunction with the Head of Recruitment set and deliver the direct Partner sourcing strategy for the firm
  • Position the recruitment team as a proactive, strategic service to help the Firm achieve its strategy. Adapt the recruitment services to reflect any changes in the strategy of the Firm or recruitment budget
  • Influence senior management in relation to recruitment strategy
  • Incorporate Kennedys DE&I commitments into all stages of the recruitment process to ensure Kennedys can attract a diverse candidate pipeline
  • Ownership of all Partner on boarding including pre-hire contact and operational logistics until the Partner's first day.

Required experience

  • Recruitment experience within a professional services environment is essential (legal recruitment agency experience preferred)
  • People management experience
  • Detailed knowledge of how a Partnership operates and experience working in a Partnership environment
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to work with stakeholders at a senior level
  • Excellent stakeholder relationships and proven ability to influence
  • Demonstrable ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at any one time.
