Group Financial Accountant

This well established business is a leading provider of specialist equipment and services. Having grown steadily through acquisition they have a number of sites across the North West and continued re-investment in modern machinery and staff development ensures they remain market leaders in their field. Through close management of cash and operational KPI's the Directors have ensured continued increases in year on year profitability across divisions within the group.

As a substantial employer within the area they are able to offer excellent career development opportunities to their employees, staff turnover is minimal but due to an internal secondment a new vacancy has opened up for a Group Financial Accountant with strong reporting and commercial skills. This position would suit someone with a background in accountancy practice looking for a first industry move or an experienced Financial Accountant looking for a new challenge. The role will offer outstanding exposure to a complex, ever changing business and can provide a career development path to a Financial Controller role in one of the divisions.

The key objective of this role will be to collate weekly and monthly reporting and provide consolidated financial information to the Group Finance Director. Specific duties will include:

  • Monthly reporting including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow
  • Consolidating MI including full commentary
  • Monthly and weekly cashflow forecasting
  • Monitoring and on-going development of KPI's
  • Reporting working capital across the Group
  • Bank Covenant reporting with commentary
  • CAPEX forecasting and ROI
  • Prepare statutory accounts
  • Lead annual audit across the group
  • Provide MI support to smaller entities

The role requires a technically strong individual with experience of financial reporting and knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, working knowledge of tax, in particular R&D would also be beneficial. Preferred candidates must be ACA / ACCA qualified, ideally with some PQE and a confident and credible approach to dealing with senior stakeholders in a business. Experience of SAGE would be useful along with good Excel skills.
