Financial Controller Designate

Elevation Senior Finance are delighted to be supporting a PE backed manufacturing business in Sheffield as they look to recruit a Management Accountant (Financial Controller Designate). The plan would be to initially start as a Management Accountant in order to understand the fundamentals of the business and operations, and then after a period of 3 months, you would be given the opportunity to step up into a Financial Controller position. You would report straight into the FD and you would be tasked with overseeing the financials for the manufacturing operations of the business as well as producing the management accounts with analysis and commentary and developing financial controls.

This is the perfect role for an Accountant looking for a step up into a senior role where you can really add value and work as part of a leadership team.

This will be a varied role with duties to include: -

  • Working closely with operations to manage budgets, productivity and efficiencies within the factory
  • Manage stock, WIP and provide cost-based analysis
  • Operating as a finance business partner to the commercial and operational teams across the business
  • Presenting MI to relevant stakeholders
  • Training, management, and development of the finance team
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Attending weekly senior management meetings
  • Production of Monthly Management Accounts
  • Continuous development in systems and processes
  • Measurement of internal controls with recommendations and implementation where applicable
  • Point of contact for external parties – HMRC, Auditors, etc.

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have the following skills and experiences: -

  • CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA Qualified
  • Previous experience within the manufacturing sector (Essential)
  • Confident communicator/ good business partnering skills
  • Accurate/ good attention to detail
  • Good IT skills
  • Staff management experience (Desirable)

This role has real scope for futher development as the business continues to grow, the FD is keen to progress the right candidate in this role and will be able to provide additional responsibilities and exposure into other higher levels of finance in time.
