Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)

Job Overview:

A vibrant and welcoming primary school in Camden is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates, particularly those with backgrounds in psychology, arts, sports, or education, who are passionate about working with young children and are considering a career in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and creative lessons across different subjects, ensuring all students are supported in their learning.
  • Provide one-to-one or group support for students who need additional help, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
  • Support students in developing their social and emotional skills, as well as their academic achievements.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of lessons and classroom resources.
  • Supervise and assist children during break times, school trips, and extracurricular activities.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that encourages participation from all students.
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff members to provide feedback on student progress.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Graduate: A recent graduate with a degree in psychology, arts, sports, education, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Passion for Education: A genuine interest in working with young children and supporting their development.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Experience: Experience working with children (voluntary or paid) is preferred but not essential.
  • Creativity and Initiative: A proactive and creative approach to engaging students and enhancing the learning environment.
  • Team Player: Able to work effectively within a team of teachers and support staff.
  • Enthusiastic and Adaptable: Open to learning new skills and able to adapt to the changing needs of the classroom.
