Job Title: Head of Finance
Location: London, UK
Salary: £52,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
About the Company:
My client, an established construction company based in London seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead our finance department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Qualified or QBE Accountant who is ready to hit the ground running and drive financial excellence within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Prepare and submit periodic financial reports to HMRC and Companies House.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure month-end balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately.
- Provide financial guidance and support to team members and other departments.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Collaborate with external accountants regarding year-end reporting.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- ACCA or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and analysis.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
- Proficiency in financial management software, including TAS, SAGE, and Xero Payroll.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
- Experience within an SME environment with a flexible 'can do' approach.
- Ideal candidates will come from a construction background and have a solid understanding of CIS and construction rules and regulations.
