Our client, a leading industrial organisation, is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Shift Mechanical Maintenance Craftsperson to join their team. If you're passionate about mechanical maintenance and thrive in a dynamic environment, this role is perfect for you!
As a Shift Mechanical Maintenance Craftsperson, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the organisation's mechanical equipment. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Safely maintaining, repairing, testing, and inspecting mechanical equipment site-wide
- Identifying and resolving faults on all mechanical equipment
- Installing mechanical plant and equipment according to current standards
- Utilising the PLANET maintenance database system to complete scheduled maintenance work
- Responding to service requests promptly and prioritising tasks as needed
- Monitoring engineering stores and reporting any items for re-order
- Providing support to planned maintenance projects and shutdowns
- Collaborating with the maintenance controller, process team leader, and planner to coordinate resources and work priorities
- Updating the PLANET maintenance database and ensuring accurate records are maintained
- Coordinating service contractors when necessary
- Participating in the emergency support call-out rota
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following competencies:
- Self-discipline and a commitment to working safely
- Understanding of engineering drawings
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems and logic
- Ability to work to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Basic MS Office skills
- Familiarity with computer-based maintenance systems
- Strong written communication skills for maintaining engineering records
In addition, the following qualifications and experience are essential:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent trade apprenticeship
- Minimum 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience as a fitter/fabricator in an industrial environment
It would be advantageous to have Mechanical COMPEX EX 11 certification and recent experience in an industrial mechanical environment.
Our client is offering a competitive salary of £38,000-£40,000, with a pay raise once you have demonstrated competence in the role. You will work on a 7am-7pm shift pattern, with shift allowance, including weekends and bank holidays. Additionally, you will receive 22 days of holiday annually.
