About the Role:
Verus Recruitment is partnering with a dynamic and fast-growing energy consultancy based in Nottingham, dedicated to helping clients achieve the highest standards of energy efficiency and compliance. This organization works with self-builders, developers, architects, and construction professionals to ensure properties meet all necessary standards through a comprehensive range of services including air tightness testing, acoustic testing, Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), SAP & SBEM assessments, and consultancy services.
Role Overview:
Verus is seeking a Qualified Air Tightness Tester who will be responsible for attending various sites across the UK to perform air tightness tests, ensuring buildings comply with UK Building Regulations. This hands-on, field-based role involves traveling to new-build residential and commercial properties, construction sites, and refurbishment projects to conduct crucial tests measuring air permeability.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to client sites across the UK to perform air tightness tests on a variety of property types.
- Conduct tests using specialized equipment to measure air permeability in accordance with current UK regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports for clients, identifying areas for improvement and offering practical, actionable advice.
- Collaborate with the team and building teams to ensure understanding and compliance with the results and any necessary corrective actions.
- Maintain and manage testing equipment, ensuring it is kept in top condition and calibrated as needed.
- Provide insights into improving energy efficiency for future projects.
- Opportunity to train and develop into a SAP Assessor, expanding your expertise to include energy performance assessments and SAP calculations for new build developments.
Requirements:
- Qualified and experienced in Level 1 air tightness testing, with a thorough understanding of relevant UK regulations.
- Knowledge of construction and energy efficiency in buildings.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Computer literate.
- Full UK driving license.
Desirable:
- Qualified domestic ventilation tester (training and qualification can be provided to the right candidate).
- Previous experience or interest in SAP assessments and energy consultancy.
- IT literacy, especially with testing software, Microsoft packages, and energy performance tools.
