residential intervention worker

This role is part time, 20 hours per week of which some will be unsociable hours, and you will also be included on the on call rota. The role is paying £17,230 per year.

JOB PURPOSE:

The post holder will undertake the full range of work with offenders after sentence. This will include assessment, sentence implementation and offender management. The post holder will provide case management support to a full range of offenders utilising service procedures and practice directions that underpin professional judgement.

They will support clients to live more independent and crime free lives by transforming their lives by the delivery of specialised and personalised interventions. To work with the team to support the re-integration of clients into the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To deliver a range of programmes, groups and one to one sessions to support the re-integration of the clients into the community

2. When providing case manager support, to contribute to the delivery of the Risk Management plan and report significant changes relating to risk of harm and/or of reoffending or any non-compliance within agreed enforcement procedures.

3. Ensure effective referrals to services and facilities and communicate with offender management staff, interventions staff, service providers and external agencies to review progress and associated risks.

4. To undertake prison, or alternate location visits as required in accordance with service procedures and policies.

5. To keywork clients and to conduct pre-placement meetings with prisoners. To provide advice, support and oversight to residential workers working with clients.

6. To attend MAPPA Level 2 and 3 meetings as required. This will be for prospective referrals and current clients. To deputise for the manager at MAPPA meetings and to cascade information to residential workers and lead on managing risk.

7. To contribute to the delivery of the risk management plan and report significant changes relating to risk of harm and/or of reoffending. Share key information and contribute to the ongoing risk assessment at meetings (including writing and updating of risk assessments).

8. To clearly communicate and intervene to support standards of client conduct at Box Tree Cottage and externally and to uphold these consistently. To work with individual clients and colleagues to address client behaviours that do not meet these standards. Demonstrate pro-social modelling skills by consistently reinforcing pro-social behaviour and attitudes and challenging anti-social behaviour and attitudes. Actively encourage clients to adhere to Approved Premises rules and Licence Conditions, monitor compliance and take fair and appropriate enforcement action if they fail to comply in conjunction with the management team and Community Probation Practitioners.

9. Ensure effective referral to or registration with community services and facilities. Liaise with other agencies who play a part in reviewing progress and managing risks involved. To encourage clients to become part of community groups as appropriate.

10. In line with Langley House Trust and National Probation Services policies and procedures, the job holder should demonstrate a commitment to equality and inclusion and an understanding of their relevance to the work they do.

11. Undertake the induction of new clients to welcome them and to help them familiarise themselves with the environment and understanding of all rules and policies.

12. To use computer-based systems to produce, update and maintain records including risk management plans and other documentation
