Warehouse Operative
Middleby UK is based in Wigan and is part of the USA-based Middleby Corporation. Middleby UK import Commercial Kitchen Equipment which designed and manufactured by other businesses within the Middleby Corporation to be sold into the UK market. Our product range is prominent in many national chains around the UK.
The purpose of the role is to ensure the efficient, safe and accurate storing, issuing and receipting of goods, stock and supplies in a timely and accurate manner and the delivery of high quality service to all customers.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Working as part of the Warehouse team the post holder will be responsible for:
- Taking delivery of goods, stock and supplies.
- Storing of goods.
- Preparation of stock for dispatch.
- Loading of stock by hand or forklift.
- Keeping records of stock.
- Assisting with stock taking.
- Keeping Warehouse and work area clean and tidy.
- Loading and unloading of goods from vehicles.
The post holder will also:
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with other internal departments to achieve accurate and timely delivery of products.
- Work as a full team member by carrying out any other duties which may reasonably be requested of the role when required.
- Undertake all duties in such a manner as to comply with Health & Safety and security procedures and guidelines.
Essential Knowledge / Skills
- Understanding of Warehouse processes.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Time management skills and the ability to assess and manage priorities.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Diligent attention to detail.
- Good numeracy skills.
- Flexible and adaptable
- Must hold current counterbalance fork lift truck license (reach truck license advantageous)
- Must have a good level of I.T. skills, Microsoft office, online booking systems
Hours of work: 39 per week
