Full Time - Shifts - 37 hours a week
Pay Rate: Up to £26,000

The role:
The position of Site Assistant will be running on an alternative shift pattern. One week will be Mondays to Thursdays 6am - 2pm, and then on Fridays 7am - 2:30pm. The second week hours will be 8 hours per day between the hours of 9:30am and 9:30pm (5pm finish on a Friday)
Duties:
- To carry out day-to-day repairs, planned maintenance and general maintenance on College grounds and buildings
- Ensuring that college buildings and grounds provide a safe environment for staff and students.
- Responsibility for the security of buildings, locking and unlocking, and grounds
- Take responsibility for the security of College buildings and the site (including unlocking/locking and keyholding duties);
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests - emergency (immediately), non-emergency (timely manner);
- To undertake weekly fire alarm checks in all buildings, in line with the Estates SOP (Statutory Operating Procedure)
- To undertake fire alarm evacuation practices as scheduled, under the direction of the Head of Estates
What you need:
- First Aid Qualification, or willingness to work towards
- SIA badge, or willingness to work towards
- Experience in basic maintenance or repairs
- Experience and good knowledge of manual lifting
- Able to commit to a changing shift pattern
- Ne Good level of health and safety awareness, and able to apply safe working practices
- Plumbing Knowledge would be an advantage but not essential
