Description

Acorn by Synergie, on behalf of our Crewe based client, are in search of a Senior Systems Administrator. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with hybrid environments (cloud and on-prem) with a mixture of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and physical servers and services.

Reporting to the Head of IT you will administer, update, improve the Technical environment from laptops, backend infrastructure, Networks and Firewalls through to administration and security of the Microsoft / Dynamics 365 CE implementation. As a vital member of the Technology team, you will be responsible for a number of key tasks.

Key duties

  • Manage and maintain essential IT operations of computer systems inc. operating systems, applications, servers, applications, email systems, mobiles, software, hardware, virtualisation (on-premises and Azure), security tools, networks and firewalls to ensure reliable operation and maximum available uptime
  • Install and upgrade computer systems, components, software and ensure all systems are patched and up-to-date according to the manufacturers release cycle
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritising and assessing the impact of issues
  • Constantly be working on ways to improve and upgrade the systems to optimise business performance
  • Provide, maintain, and update documentation for the business users to assist with self-service
  • Perform, check, validate regular backup operations and assist in the operation of processes for data protection, disaster recovery and failover
  • Support and Manage helpdesk request/issues and ensure a timely response and resolution to tickets raised in the Service Desk tool
  • Ensure that security is up-to-date through access controls, backups, firewalls and any other security measure that is in place and raise any security incidents
  • Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues across the environment
  • Manage and maintain user permissions, security roles and security teams
  • Manage system requests, assess viability and collaborate with IT resources to determine solutions
  • Support and assist in the implementation of new projects and solutions within a business initiative
  • Provide an out of hours emergency business critical service call service on a rotational basis
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and recommend solutions to enhance organisational efficiency

Essential Knowledge / Skills

  • Minimum 3 yrs of working in a Systems Administrator role within a hybrid environment
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE, power apps / automate / flow
  • Experience of Windows 10/11 / Server 2019 / Virtualization / Office 365
  • Experience with Azure or equivalent
  • Strong working knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware and networking protocols
  • System administration and IT Certifications in Microsoft and/or other network related fields

Desirable knowledge / skills

  • Microsoft SharePoint Online
  • Microsoft Cloud (Azure data services, Powerplatform)
  • SQL & Service Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Power BI (BI) or equivalent dash boarding software experience ·
  • SaaS/PaaS/cloud based services
