Our client is a leading food business who supply to a variety of the major retailers. As they continue to expand and grow their presence in the marketplace they are now seeking a driven and ambitious QA Manager to join their business.

Reporting into the Technical Manager, this role is an excellent opportunity for a Food or Fresh Produce professional looking for their role upwards to join a well-respected food manufacturing company that supplies premium products to a number of retailers.

  • Manage the daily activities of the site QA function, including laboratory operations, and coach and mentor the QA team and operatives to ensure compliance with Food Safety and Quality Plans.
  • Verify and manage the attendance of QA Technicians, including timekeeping, holiday, and sickness cover, while maintaining effective communication with HR.
  • Coordinate and investigate customer complaints, identifying root causes and implementing timely corrective and preventative actions.
  • Enforce and manage company policies, procedures, and regulations related to Health & Safety, Quality, Food Safety, GMP, and attendance, ensuring effective communication with the team.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering departments on continuous improvement projects and new equipment trials.
  • Investigate food safety and quality incidents, liaising effectively with Operations and Engineering departments to implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Act as the Quality and Food Safety Champion Lead, working with the QA and Production teams to reduce complaints, rejections, and products on hold.
  • Coordinate daily taste panels and follow up on actions required for sub-standard products.
  • Mentor, coach, and train QA Technicians and operatives on Work Instructions, including Critical Control Points, ensuring compliance with document requirements.
  • Create, implement, and manage a comprehensive training regime for the site QA function to achieve world-class quality assurance standards.
  • Participate in customer and third-party audits and visits, demonstrating knowledge and providing support to colleagues.
  • Coordinate the micro testing program and maintain the testing schedule to meet company and customer codes of practice.
