Finance & Rent Officer

We are currently working in partnership with a esteemed housing co-operative based in central London, who are recruiting for an Finance & Rent Officer on a 18 month fixed term contract.

The position is due to start (subject to notice) in August 2024 and the salary negotiable based on experience. The role will be part time (2-3 days per week).

The ideal candidate will have experience using the QuickBooks financial system and have a bookkeeping qualification.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Processing all accounts payable invoices using QuickBooks.
  • Prepare regular payment batches (generally
  • Leading on the month-end, quarterly, and year-end close processes (i.e. in CHICs and QuickBooks)
  • Preparing monthly reports (rent arrears, bad debt, P&L, budget vs. actuals, etc.).
  • Issuing quarterly rent statements and ensure records of rent payments are kept up to date (via CHICs).
  • Liaising with the local authority regarding Housing Benefit and Universal Credit receipts
  • Chasing rent arrears in line with pre-agreed KPIs
  • Ensuring the collection of rent arrears and non-landlord debts
  • Preparing annual budgets in liaison with colleagues, the Treasurer and Committees
  • Preparing financial statements, reports, and analyses
  • Co-ordinating year-end audit and liaise with external parties

Experience required:

  • Experience working in a bookkeeping based rose - desirable
  • Social Housing experience - desirable

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • AAT - desirable
  • CIMA / ACCA - desirable
  • QuickBooks experience - desirable

Working hours:

  • 2-3 days per week (no set days)
  • 9:00am - 5:00pm (can offer flexibility)
