Reed Education is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking academy seeking a Facilities Manager to lead and enhance the management of their premises.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and experienced professional to play a key role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and inspiring learning environment.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage contractors and capital works, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Take line management responsibility for the site team, driving performance and setting high standards.
  • Support the Operations Manager in planning and evaluating site repairs and maintenance, including budget oversight.
  • Champion health and safety compliance, including first aid provision and risk assessments.
  • Conduct regular compliance and security checks, manage fire safety systems, and respond to alarms.
  • Undertake hands-on maintenance tasks such as repairs, decorating, and building improvements.
  • Oversee the Building Management System and ensure optimal operation of heating and lighting.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and caretaking across the academy.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in facilities management, ideally within an educational or similar setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety compliance, with the ability to train others.
  • Budget management experience and a track record of cost-effective solutions.
  • Technical proficiency in building systems and general maintenance.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
