Hours: 28 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced professional to join our Family Support and Specialist Programmes department.

With a background in counselling, psychology or another related profession the Development Manager will lead our Specialist Programmes function, helping us to grow our therapeutic programmes and external training provision across the UK and wider geographical areas.

We are looking for someone to join our team who has experience of developing and delivering therapeutic programmes in an addiction, mental health and/or criminal justice setting and ideally, some experience of teaching/training others at a professional level.

What you will be doing?

Part of the Family Support and Specialist Programmes department in the Research and Development Directorate, this role will be responsible for the development and delivery of a range of specialist programmes, including those which can be delivered across a range of service settings and enhance our family support service. The role will also develop income generating training and support business development activities to engage a wide external audience.

With a high level of therapeutic knowledge and experience and an in depth understanding of learning and development requirements in the field, this role will lead on the quality and evidence base of our specialist programmes and interventions.

The post holder should be prepared to operate under remote management, be able to work autonomously and under their own initiative, whilst maintaining excellent collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Strategy

  • Be an Ambassador for Forward Trust's work in the area for which you are responsible, positively representing Forward Trust at internal and external events as required.
  • Develop strategies and business plans to support departmental growth and development as agreed with the Head of Family Support and Specialist Programmes (FS&SP).

Specialist Programme Development

  • Managing the development of specialist programmes and interventions as agreed with the Head of FS&SP.
  • Ensuring all programmes and interventions are; informed by evidence, evaluated through appropriate outcome measures, coproduced with people who deliver and use our services.

Training, learning and development

  • The management and development of assigned training courses and workforce development programmes.
  • Ensuring all training is informed by and reflective of the most up to date evidence and good practice concerning the subject area.

Business Development

  • Actively seek new income generating opportunities through the proactive promotion of programmes and training to external parties.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and external licence holders to maximise licence renewals and continued training opportunities.

Line Management

  • The line management of trainers/tutors and other assigned staff members as the department grows and develops.
  • Ensuring staff carry out their roles and responsibilities safely and effectively.

Financial

  • Meeting annual budgeted targets.
  • Invoicing and monitoring payments of invoices by external organisations.

Quality, health and safety

  • Supporting students as required with all aspects of their learning.
  • Valuing equality, diversity and inclusion in all areas of work and ensuring programmes are accessible and able to meet a range of learning needs.

What are we looking for?

An experienced professional with a background in:

  • Counselling, psychology or other related profession
  • Teaching/training others, ideally at an FE or HE level
  • Designing and delivering therapeutic interventions in an addiction, mental health and/or criminal justice setting
  • Service management including business development and income generation
  • Person specification
