PRODUCTION OPERATIVE

Job role

  • Work with Line Manager/Supervisor to achieve the following:-
  • Assist the organisation and work with all members of staff to ensure business and department goals and targets are achieved in the most cost effective and efficient manner within Quality Standards.
  • Responsible, in agreement with their Supervisor, for identifying their own training and development needs and to become competently and multi-skilled within the PVCu Department in order to achieve the necessary skills and technical knowledge to carry out all aspects of the production role.
  • Operate computerised machinery which includes a high level of technical expertise.
  • Maintenance of machinery including maintenance and resetting the machine as required.
  • Work with all members of staff to ensure that the existing Quality Standards are achieved and maintained and help implement new procedures in line with the needs of the business.
  • Supply the Supervisor with specific information, which will allow him/her to make informed decisions.
  • The most effective utilisation of materials and resources.
  • Following complex and technical drawings and work within very small tolerances with reference to measurements.
  • Responsible for ensuring a safe working environment exists and efficient use of all vehicles, materials and equipment in line with all current legal requirements.
  • Responsible for wearing the correct and appropriate PPE/clothing and ensuring that this is kept in good order.
  • Advise Supervisor/Line manager of anything that affects their ability to carry out their work. This includes any alteration to driving licence, status and ability
  • Ensure production targets and deadlines are met.
  • Prioritise tasks according to workloads and orders.
  • May be required to train and mentor new employees.
  • Responsible for shop floor stock replenishment

Experience

Essential

  • Working as part of a team
  • Working to deadlines
  • Welsh Language Level 1

Desirable

  • Product knowledge
  • Knowledge of quality
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety
  • Working within a factory environment
  • working with machinery and tools
  • Welsh language level 2-5

Hours

  • Monday to Friday 7.30-4pm

Pay

  • £12.00-15.06 per hour
