DORA Policies Specialist - 12 month Contract

The Chief Risk Office and Global Compliance team provide coverage of Bloomberg's regulated entities and products, including support for Bloomberg's non-regulated products and services. We work to address regulatory and operational issues, maintain adherence to current/developing rules and regulations, and correspond with regulators. We are currently looking for an experienced person to work with our Risk and Compliance Shared Services team.

What's The Role?

As the Risk and Compliance Policy Specialist you will work with the Chief Risk Office and Global Compliance teams, as well as key business and risk stakeholders. You will play a critical role in assisting with the development of the DORA Policy Program strategy. Your expertise will contribute to Bloomberg's proactive approach in managing risks. In addition, as your understanding of Bloomberg products develops, you will support the firmwide risk management program and have the ability to identify, and escalate top and emerging risks to Senior Management and Risk / Compliance Management.

We'll Trust You To:

  • Contribute to a team to develop, enhance, and proactively maintain firm-wide and entity-specific policy documents that meet regulatory expectations, Bloomberg standards, and industry best practices, particularly against DORA requirements
  • Draft policy documents by working closely with various stakeholders across Bloomberg, including Legal, Compliance, and Risk colleagues. Ensure policy documents are clear, concise, and easy to read
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to manage effective communication of updated policy document requirements and implementation consistently throughout Bloomberg
  • Continually assess and refresh policy documents to address emerging risks, regulatory trends, and changes to the business and implement effective communication protocols
  • Assist with proactively identifying, recommending, and leading improvement opportunities to enhance the firm-wide policy document framework
  • Contribute to assessing the effectiveness of the program and establishing a feedback loop for future policy document enhancements
  • Collaborate with risk, legal, and compliance teams to align policy documents to regulatory /operational expectations and industry standards
  • Develop and present insightful management information directly to senior management and relevant DORA program forums on related policy documents and DORA Policy Program.
  • Execute ad-hoc assignments as directed by management

You'll Need To Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Business or related field;
  • Minimum 7+* years of direct experience in Policy Development and Risk Management, preferably at a banking or a financial services organization
  • Strong knowledge of DORA regulations, operational resiliency and requirements impacting the financial, technology, media industry is helpful
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex risk concepts clearly
  • Understanding of risk management, internal controls, and root cause analysis
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, building and maintaining a network of contacts, and coordinating with several partners across our company
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and effective under pressure
  • The ability to work creatively and efficiently, to assist with building a program that's practical, risk-focused, and conscious of business and control partners' needs
  • Strong team player skills in order to guide organizational change and collaborate with key partners across various levels
  • Good understanding of non-financial risks and related regulations and exceptional stakeholder management skills
  • Please note we use years of experience as a guide but we certainly will consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary for the role.

We'd love to see:

  • International experience, especially in Europe, Asia or USA
  • Familiarity with financial markets and products including trading platform and operations
