£48,000 - £55,000

Contract Length:

**Team Overview:

  • Current Team: 3 Payroll Administrators, 1 Payroll Analyst

Are you a Payroll Manager available for a short term interim contract whilst the current Payroll Manager works on a system migration project?

The Interim Payroll Manager will lead the payroll team, managing the daily operations and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. This role requires someone who can work independently with stakeholders, understand the implications of decisions, and provide strategic insights. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the full payroll function, implementing new systems, and maintaining audit readiness.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Fully accountable for the payroll function
  • Lead and manage the payroll team
  • Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders
  • Ensure payroll processes are fully traceable and auditable
  • Explain decisions and processes clearly
  • Coach and guide team members to achieve their best performance

**Requirements:

  • Strong leadership skills, able to coach and guide a young team
  • Experience in payroll management
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced and complex business environment
  • Excellent communication skills to hold their own with senior stakeholders
  • Audit-ready approach, with processes fully signed off by HR and FD

**Working Hours:

  • Hybrid working model: 3 days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
  • 38-hour working week: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (4:00 PM finish on Friday)
