Project Support Officer

  • Hourly Rate: £19.16 PAYE
  • Location: Oxford (Hybrid - once a week in Oxford Town Hall)
  • Job Type: Contract

We are seeking a Project Support Officer to provide essential support for the Cowley Branch Passenger Line Project. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in project support and a working knowledge of projects with Network Rail. For the perfect candidate, there may be flexibility to increase the pay rate.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the project team.
  • Assist with the coordination of project schedules, resources, equipment, and information.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
  • Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise.
  • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants.
  • Work with the project manager to eliminate blockers.
  • Use tools to monitor working hours, plans, and expenditures.
  • Issue all appropriate legal paperwork (e.g., contracts and terms of agreement).
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Project Support Officer or similar role.
  • Experience in project management, from conception to delivery.
  • An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans.
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control.
  • Working knowledge of projects with Network Rail is highly desired.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Planner.
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g., Basecamp or Trello).
