We are seeking a talented Management Accountant to join a high-performing Finance team at their state-of-the-art facility in Nottingham. As a key member of the team, you'll report directly to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for not just the month-end process, but also driving the performance of the business through insightful analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. You won't just prepare the analysis and hand it over, you'll be the one working with department heads to manage spend, keep on track with budgets and effectively forecast revenue and costs for their departments.
This newly created role due to company growth, and offers exposure to a variety of value-added responsibilities, making it an ideal step up for those looking to progress into a Finance Business Partner role in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management Accounts: Lead the month-end process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of reports and journal postings. Provide in-depth analysis of variances and generate ad-hoc financial reports for senior management. Distribute and explain monthly departmental spend reports to budget holders.
- Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with and provide financial guidance to department heads to support the financial planning process, and contribute to the development of annual and long-term strategic plans.
- Budgets and Forecasts: Partner with department heads/ budget holders to prepare and monitor budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and strategic recommendations. Develop and refine forecasting models to enable efficient and accurate production of periodic forecasts.
- Payroll & Tax: Oversee monthly payroll processes and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations. Prepare quarterly VAT returns and support corporation tax data preparation.
- Statutory Audit and Accounts: Maintain direct contact with auditors, prepare statutory accounts, and ensure all compliance checklists are up-to-date.
What We're Looking For:
- Fully qualified or finalist (ACCA/CIMA/ACA).
- Proven experience in a Management Accountant role, ideally within a fast-paced industry.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, with strong organisational abilities.
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPS, SUMIFs, and Pivot Tables.
