Job Summary

Payroll is primarily responsible for delivering a prompt and accurate payroll service to the School. In addition to processing and maintaining data on the School's integrated HR/payroll database, Payroll is responsible for the maintenance of manual records and some aspects of contractual administration. The Payroll function reports to the Financial Services Division.

At all times the post holder will present a positive and efficient image of the Finance Division, working to deliver a high-quality customer focussed service in a friendly and collaborative team.

Responsibilities of the role

Payroll Processing

  • Ensure all documentation relating to new salaried and hourly paid joiners, leavers and all other pay amendments is processed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Process casual and overtime payments, ensuring that payments are made in accordance with School policies.
  • Ensure emails that relate to adhoc input are dealt with in a timely fashion.

Customer Service

  • Respond to all internal and external queries in a timely fashion.
  • Operate an efficient, professional and courteous service with a strong focus on excellent customer service.
  • Explore customer needs by asking pertinent questions to provide the customer with the optimum level of service.

Payroll/Finance Support

  • Support staff across the Payroll department by ensuring workloads are covered and service is maintained.

· Together with the rest of the Payroll department, actively support monthly filing of personnel information.

General

  • Provide information, in response to personal and management requests, in accordance with the principles of the Data Protection Act.

Environmental sustainability

  • The post holder is required to minimise environmental impact in the performance of the role, and actively contribute to the delivery of the LSE Environmental Policy.

Flexibility

  • To lead and deliver services effectively, a high degree of flexibility is needed, and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above.
