Reed Accountancy & Finance is actively seeking a proactive and results-driven Credit Controller for a temporary assignment lasting up to 4 months, located in Kings Hill. The ideal Credit Controller will be responsible for managing the debts of the business, ensuring timely payments are made, processing incoming funds, and resolving account queries.
**Credit Controller Key Responsibilities:
- Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email, and letter within agreed timescales.
- Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity as a Credit Controller.
- Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtedness as part of the Credit Controller duties.
- Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms as a skilled Credit Controller.
- Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries.
- Provide accurate advice on billing queries.
- Undertake account reconciliations.
- Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required by the Credit Controller position.
- Send out monthly client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time.
- Develop the Credit Controller role to reduce debtor days.
- Other duties as delegated from time to time by the Finance Manager or any other person designated in their absence.
**Credit Controller Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller.
- Good understanding of credit control procedures and principles.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Competency in Microsoft Office, databases, and accounting software.
- Calm, confident manner to handle potentially uncomfortable conversations as a Credit Controller.
