Your Impactful Role

  • Financial reporting: Lead financial reporting aligned with group policies.
  • Accounts management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable.
  • Stock management: Resolve stock discrepancies, review stock take data, and collaborate with Warehouse Managers.
  • Director collaboration: Work closely with Directors to support business objectives.
  • Variance analysis: Prepare detailed variance analyses with actionable recommendations.
  • Cash flow management: Prepare cash flow reports, forecasts, budgets, and monthly/quarterly management accounts.
  • Business review: Participate in monthly business review meetings to discuss financial data and strategies.
  • Standard costing: Develop and implement standard costing processes.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Monthly payroll: Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • PAYE payments: Manage PAYE payments.
  • VAT returns: Accurately submit VAT returns.
  • Invoice discounting: Oversee invoice discounting financing.
  • Sales targets: Update monthly sales targets vs. company plans.

  • Effective communication: Excellent written and verbal skills, capable of engaging with all levels, including Director level.
  • Process improvement: Implement financial solutions to boost efficiency and cost savings.
  • Staff management: Empower and manage staff effectively.
  • Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills with confidence and authority.
  • Budget management: Expertise in budget management and delivery.
  • Financial modelling: Proficient in financial modelling, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strategic planning: Develop, execute, and review effective commercial strategies.
  • Personable approach: Simplify financial concepts for non-financial individuals.

Your Qualifications

  • Educational background: Relevant degree in Maths, Economics, or Business.
  • Certifications: ACCA, CIMA, or Institute of Chartered Accountants qualifications.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Financial Controller role within a medium-sized organization.
  • Software skills: Proficiency in Sage/SAP.
  • Interpersonal skills: Excellent interpersonal skills.
