Company Overview - Purchasing Assistant
Our client is currently looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join their team on an initial 6 Month contract, with the possibility to go permanent.
As a Purchasing Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the procurement process, assisting in purchasing goods and essential for operations, as well as freight, and manage outstanding backorders with suppliers.
Purchasing Assistant - Roles & Responsibilities
- Work within the procurement team to reach out to our suppliers and attain quotes
- Assist in the creation, processing and updating of purchase orders.
- Maintain and check accurate records of purchases, pricing and delivery information.
- Monitor inventory levels and participate in inventory control activities.
- Coordinate with logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Evaluating supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Build and maintain new and existing supplier relationships.
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve issues, backorders and discrepancies
**Purchasing Assistant - Skills & Experience
- Experience in a purchasing or procurement role
- Knowledge of supply chain and logistics processes
- Familiarity with systems such as Magento and Odoo for inventory management.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to interact with suppliers and internal teams.
