Court Team Social Worker - Wrexham

Are you an experienced social worker looking to make a real impact in children's lives? We are seeking a passionate Court Team Social Worker to join our team in Wrexham, where you'll have the opportunity to work on complex cases, ensuring the safety and welfare of children in care proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage an allocated caseload of up to 6 sets of Care Proceedings, providing routine social work interventions, holding care planning meetings, and completing reviews.
  • Undertake direct work with children and young people, sourcing advocacy, and addressing their individual needs.
  • Adhere to court timetables, running multiple assessments simultaneously, and coordinating with multi-agency teams to ensure that care plans and permanence plans meet the child's immediate and future needs.
  • Work with children, foster carers, and families to assess risks, identify necessary support, and minimize risks through effective social work practice.
  • Develop and review care plans, education plans, and other relevant assessments, ensuring that they are based on the best interest of the child and meet all statutory requirements.
  • Provide professional support and guidance in a variety of social work interventions, using evidence-based assessments to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
  • Participate in a duty system on a rota basis, responding immediately to crises, undertaking assessments, and managing potential risks.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Registered social worker with Social Care Wales and relevant social work qualifications.
  • Experience in court work and working within the Care Proceedings process.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills to meet court deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple complex cases effectively.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working alongside multi-agency teams.
  • Experience in child protection and familiarity with statutory requirements for children in care.
