Group Insight Analyst

We are currently recruiting for a new role of a Group Insight Analyst to join our Data Analytics Team, which sits in a unique position between our Pricing, Reserving, and Claims departments. Whilst the role will primarily be focused on supporting the Claims side of the business, there are and will be opportunities to support the Pricing and Reserving function, too!

The successful candidate will have a passion for turning data into actionable insights, will be natural self-starter looking to use their initiative and curiosity to investigate trends, and will have an end goal of delivering comprehensive analysis across all levels of the business. This role requires having the creative flair to push ideas through to completion, have the confidence and initiative to question effectively and professionally, and, where required, be able to work independently or as part of a team.

Job Title: GroupInsight Analyst

Location: Hybrid with occasional travel into the Liverpool, London, and/or Sevenoaks offices

Working Hours: 37.5 Hours per week, 9am-5:30pm Monday to Friday

Salary: Competitive, plus potential 10% performance-based bonus

What you will be doing:

  • Reporting into the Head of Data Analytics, your day-to-day work will focus on working with and supporting the Insight Leads with projects that will promote operational improvements, share key group performance trends, and drive indemnity savings
  • Using self-drive and initiative to look for process improvement opportunities across the group
  • Using data to find trends, patterns, and callouts for performance, or gain answers to questions being asked
  • Liaise with the business stakeholders across all levels, up to Managing Director,to get a firm understanding on any necessary data or insight requests you are leading on
  • Prioritising and working on your requests to the required deadlines and standard being asked, and in cases going above and beyond the original ask by using your experience to further develop the end output
  • Develop and/or lead on designing dashboard builds with the Business Intelligence Technical team as and when required

What we are looking for:

  • Someone who has high levels of self-motivation, initiative, and curiosity to support improvements and growth at a group level
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to flex your message to the audience on highly technical and complex analytical answers based upon the stakeholder/s understanding
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a productive manner to gain buy in, achieve deadlines, and land projects on time, which involves working with stakeholders across many teams and levels
  • Excellent organisation skills - planning, managing and achieving deadlines set. Where necessary, this would involve organising and leading independent and team related project targets to achieve deadlines
  • A comfortable coder using SQL to extract, cleanse, and manipulate data to support work and answer theories being discussed
  • Able to reconcile outputs against baseline sources, self-reviewing along the way, resulting in reliable and error free output
  • Confident to flag gaps and assumptions, with the skill to clearly explain trends, metric definitions and methodologies succinctly
  • Experience within Insurance or Claims would be highly advantageous
  • Experience building dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar would be beneficial
