Grounds Maintenance Operative
Salary: £12.66 P/H
Hours: 0700 - 1500, Monday - Friday
Overtime: Paid at x 1.5, Sundays and Bank Holidays at x 2
Location: Oswestry - Various Wastewater Treatment and Network Sites
About Us: We are The Recruitment Co., working with a leading utility business to find a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and nationally recognized company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, weeding, planting, and general landscaping.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters, ride-on mowers, and leaf blowers safely and competently.
- Assist in the upkeep of pathways, fences, and signage to ensure safe and accessible sites for staff and visitors.
- Conduct regular inspections of the grounds and report any issues or potential hazards.
- Work effectively as part of a team and independently, managing your time to complete tasks efficiently.
- Application and handling of pesticides.
- Follow health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Practical experience using grounds maintenance machinery such as ride-on mowers, walk-behind mowers, strimmers, blowers, and hedge cutters.
- A full driving license is essential.
- Ability to plan activities on various sites according to a provided schedule.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to dynamically risk assess.
Requirements:
- A full driving license.
- Willingness to undergo a DBS check before starting.
