Citadel Source are delighted to be partnering on an exclusive basis with Norseland in Ilchester to recruit a Senior Finance Business Partner (commercial) to support the business in its next phase of growth, working closely with a high-quality Finance Director that any aspiring leader would want to learn from.

A little about Norseland....

Norseland are a £50m t/o leading speciality blended cheese supplier, manufacturing a variety of own-label and branded dairy and plant-based products for major supermarket retailers, food service and wholesale customers, both nationally and internationally.

About you

You will be a commercially minded business partner who enjoys working with non-finance stakeholders across the business, confident in using data as a tool to ensure the business stakeholders understand their position and can make effective decisions (bonus points if you love cheese).

The role

In this role, you will be partnering with the Sales Director, Brand Director, Supply chain/Logistics Director and Managing Director, acting as the conduit between the Leadership team and bridging the gap between supply planning and demand planning, ensuring the business is effectively managing the flow of product from cradle to grave. The other Finance Business Partner focuses on the manufacturing and operational side, so this role is focused more on the commercial aspects.

Norseland have heavily invested in their data and systems, so a successful candidate will need to be able to confidently analyse that data and use it, presenting it to the business.

As the Senior Finance Business Partner, your role will include but not be limited to:

  • Month end reporting of sales volumes, revenue and margin to budget, forecast and prior year.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly board reporting.
  • Review of sales volume and margin results with the sales team including investigation and understanding of sales and margin variances to standards.
  • Business partner for the Sales team with preparation of annual budgets and monthly demand forecasts.
  • Review Weekly sales reporting compared to budget, forecast and prior year.
  • Review sales pricing tenders and costings for new product or customer listings.
  • Play a key role in delivering total business targets by driving revenue, gross margin and marketing investment of the total business.
  • Using analytics and trends to identify operational drivers for financial variances and being able to use this information to influence Commercial, Operations and Supply Chain in generating efficiencies to create an optimal cost base.
  • Simultaneously improve both gross margins and value we offer our customers.
  • Translating strategy into short and mid-term financial and non-financial targets.
  • Assisting with the definition of business metrics into reports and dashboards in Power BI to enable self service performance information for stakeholders around the business.

Requirements

  • Ideally ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified
  • Proven Finance Business Partnering experience, supporting the commercial side of the business, and partnering with the stakeholders in sales, marketing, supply chain, etc.
  • Ability to analyse financial information and disseminate to non-finance people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build solid working relationships with stakeholders across the business.
  • Demonstrable experience of working effectively as part of a team in delivering financial analysis and reporting to contribute towards effective management decision making.
