What the role as a Mental Health Support Assistant entails:
- You will be facilitating and providing specific interventions to aid in the children's learning
- You will facilitate a safe and secure environment for learning to take place
- You will encourage students to achieve the best they can academically, while also adding to their personal growth
- You will keep track of their academic achievements
- Have a good understanding of the importance of safeguarding
Qualities you will need to be a great Mental Health Support Assistant:
- Being kind, caring and compassionate
- Having a determination to make a difference in the lives of the students
- Be patient and willing to adapt your approach to meet the needs of the students
- Experience working with children and especially children with SEN will be advantageous but not essential
- You will need an enhanced DBS check, but don't worry if you don't have one, we can facilitate your application
