HR Administrator

We are looking for a dedicated HR Administrator for our clients based just outside Southampton. Reporting to the Principal and under the day-to-day supervision of the HR Officer, the successful candidate will work closely with the HR Cluster Manager/Business Partner for the Region.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Advise the Principal and line managers on recruitment process, procedure, and best practice.
  • Support in drafting job descriptions, person specifications, and adverts, ensuring adherence to Brand guidelines.
  • Post vacancies on various job boards and recruitment media channels, as well as the Academy's website.
  • Engage with prospective and active candidates, managing recruitment packs and general queries.
  • Assist with interview day preparations, including logistics, room bookings, and documentation.
  • Conduct pre-employment checks, including DBS, and manage new starter processes.
  • Enter new starter information, prepare and dispatch employment contracts.
  • Support payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely communication with the National Office Payroll.
  • Manage absence tracking and support line managers with absence procedures.
  • Assist with employee relations queries and support line managers with Disciplinary, Capability, and Grievance processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases.
  • Undertake general administrative tasks and support the wider administration team as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Maths and English GCSE at Grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages.
  • Understanding of Equal Opportunities in the workplace.
  • Basic working knowledge of People systems and employment law is desirable.
  • Experience in HR systems within an education or public sector setting is advantageous.
  • Friendly, proactive, and able to manage conflicting demands and competing priorities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

A DBS and appropriate safeguarding checks may be required for this role.
