Shorterm Group has partnered exclusively with a household name in logistics and supply chain to recruit a new Manufacturing Manager based in Gloucester, to deliver a major transformation and to build an in-house engineering function completely from scratch. We're looking to revolutionise what we do, and to optimise and automate throughout our product pipeline.
As our new Manufacturing Engineer you'll be hiring and leading a team of 52 supervisors and manufacturing/assembly operators to execute this large-scale vision piece, from the deployment of automated super hubs, to designing developing and manufacturing AGV solutions to completely revolutionise our existing logistics systems.
This truly is a key role for us - it influences the entire project roadmap - so we'll be looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with strong credentials. You should have:
- Experience in manufacturing and assembly lines, maximising up time availability and optimising flow (deep understanding of a range of lean manufacturing principles essential)
- Proven track record of bringing tangible performance improvements through creating plans, introducing/managing process improvement initiatives
- Ability to create buy-in, and influence stakeholders at all levels across the business
- Experience across the full spectrum of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People and the Environment
- A passion for developing people and driving change:
o being able to effectively implement strategy and ideas while building a culture of can-do without fear of failure in order to inspire people to generate ideas and identify improvement opportunities will be absolutely critical for this role.
o People management skills are an absolute priority, and getting the best out of your team in a positive way should be the cornerstone of how you operate.
