Location: Cardiff CF24 3AD - Hybrid working available
Salary: £28,350 plus annual bonus dependent on end of year profit
Hours: Full-Time (37.5hrs per week) - Part time contracts will be considered, including term time only.

We are Wales Restorative Approaches Partnership and we are recruiting.

An exciting position is available for an enthusiastic, dynamic Trainer Practitioner to join a small, friendly team based in the centre of Cardiff.

You will be an experienced trainer (or teacher), with restorative skills and experience. The role is diverse and will involve delivering Restorative Approaches training to our clients, whilst also including an element of practice work.

Experience in both of these areas will be an advantage. We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience in the education, housing, community, and criminal justice sectors.

You will be customer-focused and person centred. Therefore, we are seeking a candidate who is confident to meet and engage with new people and diverse communities.

The role includes face to face work with colleagues and clients, as well as online delivery.

We deliver our services locally, nationally, and internationally therefore some travel will be involved, with fair TOIL systems.

As our Trainer / Practitioner you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering high-quality training sessions, both face-to-face and online, normally to groups of between 12 - 18, and occasionally to large groups of 100+
  • Delivering restorative practice work including sensitive and complex cases in accordance with Restorative Justice Council guidelines
  • Contributing to the development of appropriate materials and resources to further enhance our training and practice services
  • Supporting the management team to review and implement appropriate training and practice processes
  • Delivering on sector specific projects, incorporating elements of project management
  • Updating the case management system in a timely manner
  • Attending regular supervision sessions as required
  • Contributing to the effective monitoring and evaluation of training and practice activities
  • Undertaking any other duties, as required, appropriate to the post.

In order to be successful in this role you must have:

  • Understanding restorative approaches, and always being a role model with colleagues and clients
  • Previous trainer experience in one of our five core service areas with experience in delivering face to face and online sessions will be an advantage
  • Previous restorative justice and restorative approaches casework experience in one of our five core service areas will be an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to initiate, maintain and develop effective working relationships at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent I.T. skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, Zoom and Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and experience of safeguarding procedures
