Hanson Recruitment are working with a small SEN school in Wiltshire who is looking for an Art Teacher / Art Tutor with excellent Art subject Knowledge but also compassion and care for pupils with special needs. School is within easy transport links from Bath, Frome and easily reachable with car from Rowde, Midsomer Norton, Warminster.

School is a supportive and small SEN school that educated pupils in Secondary ages with Social and Emotional Health difficulties. This Art teaching role is full-time and would suit someone with a keen interest in Art and are creative but also keen to make a difference in children's lives through the teaching and use of Art as a means to express themselves.

Pay Rate: £130 - £160 per day (subject to experience, role and qualifications). This Art Teacher role is a full-time role Monday to Friday during school hours. For the right Art Teacher candidate, school might consider part-time Art Teacher applications. This will be an ongoing Art Teaching role with the possibility of becoming permanent in the future.

Responsibilities include:

  • Using Art as a means to communicate and support pupils emotional well-being
  • Managing HLTAAs and/or LSAs in the classroom
  • Enabling pupils with SEN to become independent learners
  • Delivering the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability of group/subjects/s that you teach
  • Encouraging the participation of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school
  • Assisting with the student's behaviour management and social-emotional development
  • Following all school behaviour, safeguarding and Health and Safety policies

Qualifications & attributes:

  • Experience of Teaching Art
  • QTS and degree or equivalent
  • Evidence of professional development relevant to teaching pupils with SEN
  • Good organisational and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work between 0845-1545 hours during the week term-time
