This firm has a large portfolio of blue-chip customers, including retailers like Heineken, Coca-Cola, Tesco and Amazon, as well some of the world's largest container shipping lines and freight forwarders.

Today, they handle up to 16,500 moves a week with a fleet of over 1,200 vehicles and employs 1,300+ highly flexible staff and drivers across 34 locations, from South Shields to Southampton. Previous experience within Transport or Distribution is preferred, however not essential as full training is provided.

Initial duties will involve:

Planning/routing

Driver debrief - excellent communication required

Tachograph analysis

Resource allocation

Communication

Damaged goods procedures

Knowledge of legislation

Paperwork handling

Fuel management

Compliance management

Any other relevant duties

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Degree in business, logistics, supply chain, analytical or economics related fields
  • Outstanding initiative

  • Demonstrate experience in the transport/logistics sector - desirable

  • Must have full driving license and own transport

HOURS OF WORK: Please note when you first start and during training you will work Monday to Friday and then be moved onto a 4 on 4 off shift pattern to meet the needs of the operation and also a full understanding of how this dyanmkic firm works.

SALARY: Circa £25,000 - £26,000

HOLIDAY: Four weeks plus bank holidays, after 3 years entitlement increases by 3 days
