Job Title: Purchase Ledger Assistant

Location: Kettering

Salary: £24,000 to £26,000 - Dependent on Experience

Type: Permanent - Flexible on hours - 8:30am to 16:00pm for example

Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours a week - Flexible with Start and Finish Times

As a Purchase Ledger Assistant within a team of three, your primary responsibility will be to provide essential support to the Finance team. Your role will encompass the following key accountabilities:

  • Enter, review, and approve purchase ledger invoices in the system, ensuring accurate coding to the nominal ledger.
  • Verify the accuracy of invoices and approve them in the system.
  • Communicate with relevant departments to resolve any invoice-related queries.
  • Prepare and execute payment runs and generate payment cash flow reports.
  • Process payment runs using Sage and manage payments through the bank.
  • Handle ad hoc payment requests as they arise.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on all payment-related matters.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and address any discrepancies to ensure accurate records.
  • Reconcile monthly credit card statements.
  • Compile agency invoice summaries.
  • Issue weekly and monthly self-bill invoices to suppliers.
  • Organize and file invoices, statements, and self-bills.
  • Allocate payments and manage fund transfers.
  • Collaborate with departments to resolve supplier queries and discrepancies.
  • Enter bank payments and bank interest charges into Sage.

Required Experience:

We are seeking someone who can quickly adapt and contribute effectively, with comprehensive experience in accounts, particularly in purchase ledger. The ideal candidate should be confident in making decisions within company guidelines.
