About the role
As a Forwarding Planner Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in our road operation planning and subcontracting. You will build strong relationships with subcontractors, ensuring we have a reliable network of hauliers to meet our customers' needs. You will monitor delivery and collection schedules, review key performance indicators (KPIs), and analyse data to identify areas for service improvement. Whilst you work with us, you will gain a Traffic Office Level 2 Apprenticeship.
You will be responsible for:
- Working Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 within our Business and Operations team.
- Plan and subcontract for our road operations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors to ensure a reliable network of hauliers.
- Monitor delivery and collection schedules to ensure timely operations.
- Review KPIs and other performance data, seeking opportunities for service enhancement.
- Assist in problem-solving and adapting to changing situations.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be proactive and forward-thinking, with the ability to show initiative and demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills. Given the busy and fast-paced environment, you must be able to work effectively under pressure and be self-motivated to work independently. Additionally, you will need strong geographical knowledge of the UK and the flexibility and adaptability to thrive in dynamic environments.
