PART 3 Architect Requirement- Exp with High Rise Building

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Deliver the specified service to the client as directed by the Client Project Leader, ensuring all client requirements are met.
  • Achieve client's time, cost, and quality objectives for the project(s) within the parameters set by the Project Director.
  • Manage day-to-day client interactions, take instructions, maintain records, report as needed, and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Monitor the team's progress and performance against the plan, programme, and budget, taking necessary actions to meet project objectives.
  • Follow agreed client change order procedures to document changes, confirm instructions, and trigger additional fees when possible.

Design Management

  • Challenge the brief to solve problems and deliver high-quality design solutions that meet the project brief and client expectations.
  • Schedule detailed outputs down to individual drawings and agree on these with the Project Leader before starting the service offering.
  • Coordinate all project information from clients, team members, other client disciplines, consultants, and external sources.
  • Implement effective procedures to ensure client responds to and acts upon received information in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a record of design development, including key stage approvals.

Resource Management

  • Communicate project objectives, design vision, and the project quality plan to the client team and external consultants. Lead and build the team into a cohesive group.
  • Allocate tasks to project team members and manage resource requirements with the Project Leader to maintain the necessary level and skill set of resources.

Information Management

  • Ensure client information is clearly documented and communicated to all relevant parties promptly.
  • Store information according to approved procedures, ensuring it is easily accessible at all times.
  • Maintain Document Issue Procedures and always obtain sign-off before issuing documents.
  • Archive documentation at project closeout following agreed procedures.

Experience and Qualifications

  • ARB registered.
  • 2-4 years of post-Part 3 experience working on medium to large-scale mixed-use projects at RIBA Stages 3-5.
  • Extensive experience in developing sustainable housing and mixed-use schemes.
  • Extensive experience in UK urban or suburban housing design and master planning.
  • Passion for working with communities to create sustainable living spaces.
  • Proven commitment to high performance and dedication to professional learning and development.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent project management skills, including understanding project outputs, resource management, team responsibilities, delivery timeframes, issue and risk tracking, and effective communication.
  • Strong understanding of UK residential design standards, building regulations, and statutory requirements, with practical application evidence across several projects.
  • Have awareness of the legislative changes that are occurring to the legislative and regulatory framework and illustrate how they are actively involved in implementing these changes
  • Have experience acting as a CDM and a BC Principal Designer or show that they have shadowed or worked with a senior lead assisting in this role.
  • Knowledge of major construction methods commonly used in housing.
  • Familiarity with RIBA work stages and project delivery life cycles.
  • Experience with how developers, contractors, subcontractors, and technical teams procure and deliver residential developments and mixed-use schemes.
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional design skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in project report writing.
  • Client and team-focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills for building and maintaining collaborative working relationships.
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and mentor others.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, responding proactively when required.
  • Good influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Assertiveness with diplomacy and tact.
  • Results-driven with a can-do attitude and determination to succeed.
  • First-class skills in AutoCAD and Revit, with experience in Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word); knowledge of Microsoft Project is desirable.
