We are seeking a Head of Pay and Rewards to join our corporate People & HR function as part of a reward transformation project team. This pivotal role will promote governance and compliance, provide expert guidance, and lead HR policy development in pay and rewards specialism, ensuring a quality improvement approach is central to all activities.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead the effective delivery of governance processes relating to job evaluation, pay, and grading frameworks.
  • Maintain consistency and transparency in evaluations, introduce and oversee governance protocols, support organisational design initiatives, and provide expert advice to stakeholders.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Policy & Industrial Relations Lead to review and develop policies, ensuring progress is made in a timely manner with appropriate consultation with Trade Unions and adherence to policy governance standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in job evaluation methodology and align outcomes within the governance framework.
  • Take responsibility for job evaluation governance, providing advice, ensuring compliance, and reporting for assurance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the public sector, focusing on pay and rewards with experience dealing with Trade Unions
  • Strong understanding of job evaluation governance and pay and grading frameworks.
  • Ability to lead HR policy development and ensure compliance with governance standards.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide expert advice and support organisational design initiatives.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and quality assurance in all processes.
